Why is My Kid Hitting Me?!

A vicious ape has taken over my lovable little miracle

My hair is long right now — something new to me and new to my child who has most recently found great pleasure in pulling it.

In addition to hair-pulling has come whacks on my legs and threats to smack me across the face when I tell him no cookies or “No, you cannot slam your fists on my keyboard.”

On the brink of making the transition from daycare to preschool, in addition to moving away from the comfort of his previous routine, my guess is his 3-year-old brain is working hard to process all of this. And in the interim, a vicious ape has taken over my lovable little miracle.

Do your kids treat you like a tetherball? And if they do, how do you get them to stop?

XOXO,

Ash
